HP Piano X v1.0
---------------

Well, I've finally updated the old HP piano. This new version has three new major features. HP piano can
now write sysrpl code (aplets) as well as HPBasic programs, it now supports pc keyboard input instead of
only the mouse, but most importantly, HP piano now has realtime recording! You can play in your masterpiece
without bothering to calculate note lengths. Detailed instructions are contained within the program and can
be found by selecting help in the menu, or instructions on the title screen. To install HP piano X, simply
run setup.exe and follow the prompts.

Whilst HP Piano X is freeware, please remember that it is copyrighted, and if you wish to post hp piano on your
site, or otherwise distribute it, please obtain my permission, and acknowledge me as the creator. Also, whilst
I have tried my upmost to keep this software free of viruses and bugs, I do not take any responsibily for any
undesired result on either your computer, or calculator. (since this is freeware, I can't hire expensive
lawyers :) )

The following are instructions written by Colin Croft regarding the transfer of music programs to the calculator:

The simplest way to download a file is to follow the steps below:
1. Create the file using HP Piano and save it into an empty directory using a short, easy to remember name
   (eg FRED, TEST, NOTES etc).
2. Run HPGComm and select the directory you saved it into.
3. On the calculator, change into the PROGRAM CATALOG and press RECV and select 'Disk drive..' from the menu.
4. When HPGComm and the calculator tell you that the directory is 'Not initialized' then tell it to go ahead
   and initialize.
5. Now, in the RECV window on the calculator, choose the OTHER option from the screen keys. Type in the name
of the file you saved the notes under, including an extension if you gave it one.
6. Immediately SEND it back to the PC so that next time you won't have to do all this. Any subsequent files
that you save into that directory will only require that you repeat step 5 and 6.

Known issues:
1. The program may occasionally cause "illegal operations." This is due to the software I used to create
HP Piano X, and, although annoying, will not harm your computer
2. If you use the keyboard for realtime recording, ensure that you release one key before playing another,
or the new key may not register.
3. Due to the software I used to create HP Piano X, there is a limit to how long a song can be. As a result,
if a song is too long, the code will begin to overlap. This occurs at the second last line from the bottom
of the code window. If you wish to write a longer song, create two separate songs, and add the following
code to the end of the first song: :RUN <name of second song>

I apologise for these errors. They are mainly due to the limited nature of the software I used to create
HP Piano X

I hope you enjoy using HP piano X
