For example, the very first page used to say something like this: Congratulations! You are now the owner of the best calculator in the world! You have joined ranks with Nobel laureates, astronauts, and other massively cool people! Wear it on your belt and be PROUD to be recognized as One Smart Cookie! [Slightly paraphrased by -jkh-] Of course, *nowadays* the first page says something like this: Entire contents of this sucky manual are copyrighted. If you copy any of it we'll sue your ass. If you even DAYDREAM about it, our orbiting Thought Police (tm) satellites will instantly vaporize you. Don't even THINK about reverse-engineering the ROM code in the calculator, either, or you will be TOAST! HA HA HA HA HA!!!! And it's all supplied "as-is" so if you find bugs, well, that's just unfrigginfortunate!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!! [Translated from legalese into English by -jkh-] *sigh* Gone are the days. -Joe- I don't speak for HP when I post here. As if you couldn't tell.
