'Werner's SX' are two KML script files + two bitmaps for the emulator 'EMU48',
a program, which can simulate various Hewlett-Packard pocket computers
by PC. EMU48 will be able to simulate a 'HP48SX' on a PC with these files.
Werner's SX is based upon 'Casey's GX with Toolbar and Touch Screen' from Casey
Patterson und Sebastien Carlier, which is included in the EMU48 installation files.
Werner's SX offers full keyboard support in comparison to Casey's GX, where some important
keys like the Shift keys can only be
controlled by mouse: so you'll be able to access my SX completely by keyboard :-)))
Also many SX shift key functions are available by one single key stroke!
Details to all keyboard assignments (German and English) you'll find in the included
files 'keyboard_german.html' and 'keyboard_english.html'.
Also I've changed the optical outfit, now matching to the original HP48SX design.
My new bitmaps also include all available
left/right-shift Alpha characters of the HP48SX as well as information to
special keyboard assignments (in grey colour) for simple visual access.
Like this you should be able to use Werner's SX intuitively by keyboard without the need
to study my keyboard-assignments files first.
Important notes:
You need a HP48SX-ROM in EMU48-format (ROM.48S) in your EMU48 directory to run Werner's SX,
and this file is not included in the EMU48 installation! You'll need to download it separately from
www.hpcalc.org at section HP48 Series/PC Files/Emulators.
The best choice is 'HP 48SX Revision J ROM', the latest ROM from HP released for the HP48SX.
After downloading and unzipping you'll need to convert this file into EMU48-format, which can be done easily
with the following command line in your EMU48 installation directory:
convert sxrom-j ROM.48S
