HP-48 Operations
Configure the IOPAR before any other operation.
This sets the baud rate and other RS-232 parameters critical to communication
with the PC.
Built-In I/O Menu
To access the built-in I/O menu, press left-shift then I/O (on the number 1
key). This brings up the first part of the menu which has the Kermit
functions. The Kermit functions will not work with the Connectivity
Kit features so press the
key to bring
up the second half of the menu.
The second half of the I/O menu has the XModem functions: XSEND and XRECV.
To use either of these functions select the Download File (Manual-XRECV)
or Upload File (Manual-XSEND) functions from the Connectivity Kit
File Menu. You will then be prompted to enter a name on the calculator and
press either XSEND or XRECV.
The XRECV function is used to download the new XModem Server to the calculator. Once installed, transfer operations are almost fully automatic from the PC to the calculator. Follow the Download Server (Manual-XRECV) prompts to load the server.
XModem Server
Start the server by selecting right-shift LIBRARY and then XSRVR to get the
XSrvr menu.
Then press XSERV to start the server.
IOPAR
Set the calculator I/O parameters to { 9600 0 0 0 x x } (where x means
