Prime G1: Dune 2/opendune - parisse - 2026-08-04 10:06, edited 2026-08-04 12:10

A beta version of Dune 2 is now available via an OpenDUNE port.
Dune 2 is the ancestor of real-time strategy games like Warcraft, Starcraft, etc.

Dune 2  www.myabandonware.com/game/dune-ii-the-building-of-a-dynasty-1e7 (choose the floppy disk version)
Copy the dune.elf file to the apps directory on the G1 and the other files to a directory named dune on the HP Prime (from powershell d:\apps and d:\dune if the G1 is attached as an usb key)
Controls note: Letters A to Z act as shortcuts (matching the first letter of a dropdown menu option) and are directly accessible on the physical keyboard. However, numbers 1 through 9 (except 3) are no longer directly accessible, as they are bound to the function keys:
  • APPS: 1
  • SYMB: 2
  • PLOT: 4
  • Num: 5
  • Help: 6
  • Menu: 8
  • CAS: 9

I haven't tested it extensively yet—just the first two missions—but it looks very playable!
