Hi all!! I agree this is a great site.
I'm in the market for structural engineering application cards for the HP48 GX. SMI stock 3 No. however they are mostly based on imperial units. Anyone know of other vendors who might supply cards with metric applications. Thanks. BF.

You guys really love those HPs. I come here all the time as this is the place to be for HP calculator info. I've been using HP calculators for many years:
HP41CV, HP41CX, HP11C, HP71B, HP48SX, HP48GX
and finally the new HP49G.
This page is the best I've ever seen and is very well maintained.
My opinion about the new HP49G is:
++ Functionality
++ Memory size, flashable OS
+ Rugged case, nice design
- Screen protection
- Manuals
(But with this home-page this isn't a real problem)
-- Rubber keys
(I would have paid quite a bit more a famous HP-keyboard)

Hello, I am a newbie here. I am looking for diabetic software
to run on an HP48GX - the exchange groups, menu planning, restuarant
thing that diabetics have to go through. If there isn't one I guess
I'll have to write my own from a database program. Is there
such a thing as a database program that can be tailor made.

Hey !! guess what....I bought an HP 49G....man, it's a baby....well, I'd say it's the best calculator ever made (it's HP's masterpiece)....looks awesome, and has rough feel....plus it's so easy to use. The best part is that in the beginning I hesitated to use RPN..but now i'm addicted to RPN (bad news)!!....and thanks for your advice Eric !

i bought an HP49G...and it sucks ass.. (come on...i lost my ti89, and i was filled with glee, now that i had a reason to buy the hp49g...and well...it sucks compared to ti89...i love the RPN mode...but hey..if the keys suck productivity goes down... so even though ti89 blew ass too... it was faster, had a better screen...and well...hell of a lot easier to input data...even though its not RPN...) DAMNIT!!! i should have bought an HP48G...lemme tell you that the 49 is not worth it... (actually its kinda growing on me...and i am fantically trying to convert my friends into using the HP49G...ahahah) ok ok...anyways..long live HP calculators!

I guess I've been out of touch too long! I was sorry to
hear about EduCALC closing its doors. My father turned me
onto them about a dozen years ago when he bought me my
first HP, an HP-11c. I've bought many books and HP 48G/GX
stuff from them. I ran into someone with an HP48SX and
told him about a great place called EduCALC and went
looking for them on the web but found thier server down.
It wasn't until I saw your sight that I had found the
root of the problem.
Much regret,

looking for software to help me up/download software and
data to a pc, I found a reference to hpcalc.org. I immediately
found information on how to install software on the main page.
Thankyou very much. It does, however, seem way more complicated
than the HP program for the HP38G. I will continue to peruse your

I love my TI calcs (82, 86, 89), but will be going to college for ME or EE. Any suggestions on a HP calc? 48GX or 49G? Which would be better? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have used HP calculators for about ten years now and I could never use an algebraic calculator again. I have both a 32S and a 48GX.

My first HP was a 28S. I still use it alot. Early this year I bought an HP 48GX. This website has really helped alot as many of my fellow students have jumped ship to TI. I also appreciate the 28 S section. I use this website often. Keep up the great work!!

This is my first visit. I really like the info on the 49G. This is my first year with an hp 48. I have been using an hp67 since it came out in 1976 but it's time to come up to speed I guess. Hope to get some program help here with the 48.

I'm an user of hp scientific calculators since the early 80'; I began to use the first hp41c, then the hp41cv, and the hp42-s. Last month I bought a hp48gx, but I found it slower than hp42-s when a solver program runs. Anyway I believe that the current hp user's manual is poor and not enough clearly to learn about programming or other; the older manuals of hp41c and hp42-s were full of examples and so on. I would like to know from other users of hp48gx where I can find some literature about this matter.
Anyway I found this web site very useful for my needs.
I wish you a good continuation on this way.
